Traditional technology education focuses on arousing students’ interest in technology rather than equipping them with real technical skills. STEM education devices, such as Micro:bit, are more like toys instead of tools with full functionality to build something meaningful. Even though students are interested in technology, there is a gap between STEM education toys and real-world programmable devices, and students have no support to acquire real technical skills. Real-world programmable devices have a steep learning curve, as students need to understand the operating system, Linux commands, wireless communication, and network protocol before they can control the devices.

VINCI AI aims at bridging the gap between STEM toys and real-world programmable devices. Our vision is to equip students with real technical skills that are critical to their future careers. Our mission is to lower the barriers to accessing real-world programmable devices so that teachers without a strong technical background can prepare courseware easily, and students can learn modern technologies, such as AI, by doing.
