State Key Laboratory

State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (City University of Hong Kong) (SKLMP)

In collaboration with local universities and in partnership with the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science at Xiamen University, responds to China’s pressing and important needs in protecting its marine ecosystems and bioresources, and helps address complex environmental issues. Specifically, SKLMP aims to foster professional partnerships and research collaboration among marine environmental scientists, oceanographers and engineers to design, develop and deploy innovative approaches and state-of-the-art technologies for exploring and managing the complex marine environment.

Liu Bie Ju Centre for Mathematical Sciences (LBJ)

The Liu Bie Ju Centre for Mathematical Sciences (LBJ) aspires to conduct first-class research in applied mathematics and in computational mathematics. As a leading research centre in the Asia-Pacific region, its key objective is to strive for excellence in applied mathematical sciences. Over the years, it has attracted eminent visiting scientists across the world through organizing international events, and supported the publication of journal articles, books, preprint series and lecture notes series, and actively solicited outside funding and donations to support research in applied mathematical sciences.

Centre for Neutron Scattering (CNS)

The Centre for Neutron Scattering (CNS) is established with a vision to develop Hong Kong as a hub in the region for neutron scattering science, which has led to major advances in areas such as clean energy, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, materials engineering, etc. In close collaboration with the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) in Dongguan, CNS carries out a variety of cutting-edge research projects to study complex materials, opening up new opportunities for materials research.
