Professor Xunli Wang, Chair Professor and Head of the CityU Department of Physics, visited Bowen Chen and Chennan He, two physics students who are studying in New York City through the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme established by CityU and Columbia University. The talented students were enjoying their learning experience at Columbia University very much.
“I am honoured to have received two scholarships from Columbia University, which have encouraged me to be bolder in my academic career. The scholarships allow me to pay more attention to my interest in astrophysics and take more graduate-level courses in this field. With the generous support from my college, I am confident in exploring my potential here,” Bowen explained.
Bowen was awarded the William Strong Scholarship Fund scholarship and the Richard Stockton and Frances Rojack Scholarship. Both scholarships covered a significant percentage of his tuition fees. These two scholarships are among the most prestigious and reserved for the most talented current students and the most promising future alumni.
Students admitted to the 4-year Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme between CityU and Columbia University in the USA, the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and The University of Manchester in the UK will spend two years each at CityU and the partner university. On completion of the undergraduate curricula of both universities, students will earn two bachelor’s degrees – one from each university.
