Mr Lawrence Tzang Chi-hung, a PhD student in the Department of Biology and Chemistry, was awarded one of three best poster prizes at the Asian-Pacific Conference of Tumour Biology 2001, held in Beijing last September.

Mr Tzang won the award for his poster titled "Genetic Comparison of Two Different Grade Astrocytoma Cell Line CHG-5 and SHG-44 by cDNA Microarray Hybridization".

Some 138 posters from 19 regions were displayed at the conference and Mr Tzang's poster was the only one from Hong Kong to win an award.
