Yun CHI

Professor Yun CHI received his bachelor degree from National Tsing Hua University in 1978 and doctoral degree under Prof. John R. Shapley from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986. After spending one year as postdoctoral fellow, he joined the Department of Chemistry, National Tsing Hua University as associate professor in 1987 and promoted to professor in 1991. He was awarded the Academic Award and the National Chair Professorship of Taiwan in 2006 and in 2011, and Permanent National Chair Professorship in 2016.

Jian HAN

Prof. Han’s research interests focus on theory, modeling and simulations of materials. Principally he works on the thermodynamics and kinetics of defects in crystalline materials, such as point defects, dislocations and interfaces, and the implications on the mechanical properties of polycrystals. His research approach is multiscale, including molecular statics/dynamics, (kinetic) Monte Carlo, and continuum models.

Jr-Hau HE

Biography

Prof. Jr-Hau He received his BS and PhD degrees at National Tsing Hua University in 1999 and 2005, respectively. He has been an influential scientist in optoelectronics. He has made a major contribution to understanding light-mater interaction, which reflects on his achievement of photon management on the light harvesting devices. He has conducted highly interdisciplinary researches to bridge those gaps between various research fields and between academia and industry.

Qiyuan HE

Biography

Qiyuan He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. He received his BSc in Applied Chemistry from Wuhan University (China) in 2005, MSc in Polymer Physics and Chemistry in Fudan University (China) in 2008, and PhD degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2013. He then joined the University of California Los Angeles as a Postdoctoral Fellow before returning to Nanyang technological University as a Research Fellow in 2016.

Derek HO

Prof. Derek Ho is currently an associate professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He serves as co-principal investigator at the Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-Cardiovascular Health Engineering, where he conducts translational research in multifunctional materials and devices for wearable medical electronics. Prof. Ho is also cross-appointed by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea.

Johnny C Y HO

Prof. Johnny Ho obtained his B.S. in chemical engineering with high honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 2002. Before attending graduate school, he worked as a process engineer at National Semiconductor in Silicon Valley. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 2005 and 2009, respectively, specializing in the topic of design of nano-materials for next-generation electronics under the supervision of Professor Ali Javey in electrical engineering.
