We are pleased to share that CityU Materials Sciences & Engineering is ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong and No. 31 globally in the latest ShanghaiRanking 2022 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) in Materials Sciences & Engineering. This is our second consecutive year to be ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong and a significant elevation from No. 51-75 in 2017 to 31 in 2022 in the world in GRAS. There are 29 universities in Asia ranked in the global Top 50 Materials Science and Engineering subject list and CityU is among the Top 20. The ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects was first published in 2017 that contains rankings of universities in 54 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. More than 1,800 out of 5,000 universities across 96 countries and regions are listed in the rankings.
