City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will resume its physical Undergraduate Info Day on 7 October this year from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, making it one of the first of the eight UGC-funded universities in Hong Kong to organise the Undergraduate Info Day this year. The first 6,000 participants will receive an exquisite CityU souvenir.

Nearly 200 activities will be held on campus on the Info Day for secondary school students and parents to learn about the latest programmes and admissions information offered by CityU, including two JUPAS Admissions Talks for Secondary 6 students, two non-JUPAS Admissions Talks for holders of internationally recognised qualifications or sub-degrees, talks on programmes organised by faculties and departments, consultation sessions, exhibitions, tours, and student and alumni sharing. CityU invited representatives from Columbia University in the United States to give a talk on the Joint Bachelor's Degree Programme between CityU and Columbia University, introducing how the programme provides students with an international undergraduate education experience.

As a core subject in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), “Liberal Studies”, will be replaced by “Citizenship and Social Development” from 2024 onwards, CityU will update its JUPAS admissions requirements and criteria. Participants are welcome to enquire with the Admissions Office, Colleges/Schools and Departments about the latest JUPAS information on the day of the event.

CityU encourages a student-centred approach to learning, allowing students to explore areas beyond academics through innovative learning. The university is committed to providing students with systematic, inspiring, interactive and innovative learning experiences, with the aim of cultivating future global leaders. In the 2024/25 academic year, CityU will offer 55 programmes with a total of over 2,000 first-year places for both JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants.

The newly launched “Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Science and Engineering and Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance” programme addresses the growing demand for professionals in the environmental engineering, green finance, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) fields. It provides students with rigorous and comprehensive education in environmental engineering and finance, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to address sustainable finance challenges in Hong Kong and globally.

CityU introduced the first six-year Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme in Hong Kong in 2017. The programme received dual accreditation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom and the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council this September, making it the only programme in Asia accredited by both regulatory bodies for veterinary education. Graduates can register for practice in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, without the need to sit further examinations and subject to fulfilment of the registration requirements of relevant professional bodies.

The Indra and Harry Banga Gallery of CityU is currently organising an exhibition titled “The Grand Gathering of the Century: Zodiac Heads from the Yuanmingyuan and Important Treasures”, showcasing 12 zodiac head sculptures from the film CZ12: Chinese Zodiac. Undergraduate Info Day participants are welcome to visit and appreciate the exquisite design and ingenuity of the fountain in the Western architecture of the Yuanmingyuan. Additionally, Hong Kong-style snacks and game booths will be available on the 3/F and 5/F of Lau Ming Wai Academic Building at CityU to give participants a taste of the carnival atmosphere.
