Getting the lowdown on CityU at Virtual Information Day

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) will introduce its latest programme developments and admission requirements at the Virtual Information Day to be held on 23 October (Saturday). The theme this year is “Talents beyond boundaries”.

CityU is advancing society by nurturing the talents of tomorrow and transforming our students into future leaders. Among the highlights at the Virtual Information Day will be our newly launched HK TECH Tiger programme, which targets highly motivated students determined to play leadership roles in tomorrow’s rapidly changing hi-tech world and who seek opportunities for advanced learning. Brilliant students admitted to the programme will benefit from the University’s highly interdisciplinary, technology-enriched courses, which will ensure their success in attaining their career goals and aspirations for further studies.

Successful candidates for HK TECH Tiger may compete for the President’s Scholarship at HK$300,000 per annum and two Hong Kong Tech Scholarships at HK$200,000 each per annum. Both awards are tenable for four years.

HK TECH Tiger contains several other unique features. For example, to cater to the advanced learning needs of elite students, and to enhance their competitiveness, HK TECH Tiger offers a customised curriculum in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and other high quality fundamental courses.

Students can also pursue a master's degree at the University or at a world-renowned overseas university through our bachelor’s and master’s combination option, and may have the opportunity to participate in HK Tech 300, our flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme.

Additionally, our joint bachelor’s degree programmes are collaborations with Ivy League and world-renowned universities such as Columbia University, University of Edinburgh and University of Manchester. Students admitted to these programmes will be awarded two bachelor’s degrees, one from CityU and the other from the partner university.

Apart from the above, more than 100 programme talks and information sessions will be offered by the College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science, Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, School of Creative Media, School of Data Science, School of Energy and Environment, and School of Law.

Interested secondary school students, parents and teachers can register for virtual events through the webpage www.pd4n48r.xyz/infoday to get advice on programmes and admissions via interactive consultation sessions and live webinars. They can also explore campus facilities and download materials about selection process and programme offerings.

Other online activities include talks on student exchanges, internship opportunities, careers support for students, Student Athletes Admission Scheme, and JUPAS and Non-JUPAS admissions. There will be student sharings on university life, internships and exchange experiences. Participants can ask questions via video or message chats.

As well as the virtual events, CityU welcomes visitors to join us for the on-campus activities, including workshops, lab tours, live talks and sharing sessions by current students and alumni, and live consultation with admissions tutors.
