Ten faculty members from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been named as Highly Cited Researchers for 2018 by Clarivate Analytics, reflecting the high academic standard of our faculty and our excellent research performance.  

The list recognises scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated substantial influence in their fields through publication of multiple highly cited papers ranked in the top 1% by citations between 2006 and 2016.

Two CityU academics were named in a new cross-field category created for interdisciplinary research.

“I am delighted that more scholars from CityU have been recognised as Highly Cited Researchers this year,” said Professor Way Kuo, CityU President. Seven faculty members were selected in 2017.

“The list acknowledges their impact on the research community as well as on society. We are proud that our faculty are internationally recognised and play such a vital role in furnishing society through innovative research,” he said.

Clarivate Analytics, formerly known as the Intellectual Property and Science Business of Thomson Reuters, introduced the Highly Cited Researchers in 2014. The citation analysis identifies the most influential researchers as determined by their peers around the globe.
