Displaying its dedication to education at all levels, CityU continues to roll out the red carpet for local secondary school principals. The visits, organized in batches, are one of the many activities organized by the Offices for Institutional Advancement to foster a spirit of cooperation and create a dialogue between the University and Hong Kong's secondary schools.

 

"We are fortunate to have such distinguished visitors agree to take part in our tours," said Professor Y S Wong, Vice-President (Institutional Advancement). "Secondary schools represent the future of CityU-and the school principals are the gatekeepers of our future."

 

Each time, five to six school principals were given an exclusive campus tour by Professor Wong during their four-hour visit. They were shown some of the University's hottest research areas and departments, such as the Interactive Media and Virtual Reality Laboratory and the School of Creative Media.

 

In the past year, 22 school principals have toured the campus this way (see table below). Beginning this year, the programme will expand to see CityU staff visiting local secondary schools, in an effort to better understand the latest developments in secondary school education.
