New functional auxiliaries and industrialization – Integrated R&D strategy and industrialization of functional bio-based porphyrins

 

This project proposes the development of high-end, bio-based metalloporphyrin functional additives and the demonstration of their industrial application in biomass polymers, such as polylactic acid (PLA). The project will address common problems in the industry, such as the flammability of PLA, high combustion heat release, high toxic fume generation, poor anti-ageing properties, and the need to further improve the mechanical properties.

The developed biomass metalloporphyrin has the characteristics of low addition, high efficiency and high yield.

In addition, for the system design of biomass-based metalloporphyrins, technical research and collaboration has been carried out with regard to the flame retardant and smoke suppression technology of composite materials and the efficacy integration technology of biomass polymers. Specific technology and process routes will be developed to achieve the expected economic and technical targets of the project. The research results of the project will be extended to the green flame retardant additives industry.
