Outbound Exchange Scholarships
Outbound exchange scholarships donated by enthusiastic donors are established to encourage and reward students in pursuit of the University-subsidised Student Exchange Programme. Full-time UGC-funded undergraduate students who shall attend a semester-based student exchange programme (institutional/ college/ departmental level) are eligible to compete for the scholarships. Nominations shall be made by the respective College/School in March/ April each year and are designed to support students participating in outbound exchange programmes in the following academic year.
Except otherwise stated, generally, the selection criteria include:
- have achieved a CGPA of 3 or above in the last semester/term of study;
- have fulfilled the English language requirements for exchange programme using English as the medium of instruction or other language proficiency or special requirement as specified for the individual programme;
- have possessed promising attributes such as leadership potential, aspiration for advancement, etc.; and/or have participated in voluntary community service and have good conduct;
- have not previously participated in similar University-subsidized overseas exchange programmes; and
- priority will be given to those who have proven financial needs or have successfully applied for Government grants and loans.
The value of the scholarships ranges from HK$10,000@ to HK$48,000@, depending on the scholarship regulations and destination of exchange studies.
Eligible students who are nominated by their respective College/ School/ Department can submit their application in the Scholarship and Financial Aid (SFA) System under the following steps:
- Select "SFA Scholarship and Prize Nomination/ Application" menu from "Student Services" via AIMS
- Student Services (Tab) > SFA Scholarship and Prize Nomination/ Application > "Scholarships in support of Outbound Exchange Programmes" (SFA ID: 001520)
