This course aims to provide a general understanding of violence (e.g., gang, school, domestic, workplace, sexual) and examine biological, psychological, and sociological perspectives on violence. The influence of media on violence as well as law and policy issues related to violent behaviour will also be explored. Through group discussion sessions, interactive exercises, and use of multi-media materials, students will develop critical thinking about violent behaviours and their impact on society, and reflect on societal solutions.
