The Department of Chemistry, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Hong Kong Society of Cosmetic Chemists (HKSCC) jointly hosted the very first Hong Kong Secondary School Cosmetic Formulation Competition cum Award Presentation Ceremony on the 11th September 2021. Out of a total of thirty-one school applicants, the best six secondary school teams were shortlisted to compete for the championship in the final round by sharing the making of their products in a 15-minute presentation. While many of the shortlisted teams had shown outstanding performance during the final round, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians Siu Ming Catholic Secondary School won the hearts of the judges and received the championship. The first runner-up and the second runner-up went to Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School and St. Paul’s Convent School respectively. St. Teresa Secondary School, Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kap Yan Directors' College were granted Merit awards.
